BUA Foods Partners with Turkish Firm to Expand Wheat Flour Milling

BUA Foods Plc has partnered with IMAS, a Turkish manufacturer of flour milling equipment, to increase its wheat flour milling capacity to 2.5 million metric tonnes annually.

Expansion Details

The partnership includes the construction of four advanced wheat and flour milling factories, with a combined daily milling capacity of 3,200 tonnes. This expansion will enhance BUA Foods’ total wheat flour milling capacity, positioning the company to strengthen its market presence in Nigeria and explore new markets.

Strategic Goals

BUA Foods aims to bolster its production capabilities to meet the growing demand for high-quality flour products in Nigeria, contributing to the country’s food security efforts. The new factories are expected to play a crucial role in this initiative.

Agreement Formalization

The partnership was officially signed during a ceremony attended by senior executives from both BUA Foods and IMAS. Abdul Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Foods Plc, emphasized that the collaboration with IMAS reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing food security in Nigeria.

“These new factories will not only increase our production capacity but also create more job opportunities across the country,” Rabiu stated. He also noted that the investment would allow BUA Foods to meet diverse flour needs with high-quality products.

IMAS’s Contribution

Mustafa Ozdemir, Vice President of IMAS, highlighted that the partnership aligns with the goal of expanding access to affordable, healthy food across Africa.
