The Economic Forum Series (EFS) and Nairametrics Announce Inaugural Annual MSME Finance Awards

The Economic Forum Series® (EFS), Nairametrics, and DiGiComm Enterprises proudly introduce the first Annual MSME Finance Awards Program. This initiative aims to recognize and reward innovation and impactful financial services that support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. The program also highlights effective policy and regulatory efforts that enhance MSME access to finance.

The Annual MSME Finance Awards were created to honor both financial and non-financial institutions, including non-state actors, for their contributions to improving MSMEs’ access to financing. This includes broader goals such as financial inclusion, the role of FinTech, government policies, legal and regulatory frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives.

This award program extends from the Annual MSME & Start-ups Summit, which the Economic Forum Series® (EFS) has organized since 2018. The awards aim to recognize the outstanding work of financial institutions, non-governmental organizations, civil society groups, and government agencies in driving MSME growth through innovative financial products, services, and initiatives.

Categories in the award program include MSME Bank of the Year, Best in MSME Financial Inclusion, Best MSME Microfinance Bank, Best MSME FinTech Payment Platform, and MSME Insurance Company of the Year, among others.

The event has received endorsement from the Office of the Vice President on MSMEs & Job Creation, Federal Republic of Nigeria, with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) as a key institutional partner.

Nairalytics, the research analytics division of Nairametrics Financial Advocates, independently handled the nominations and shortlisting for the MSME Finance Awards. Winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony at the Grand Banquet Hall of the Civic Centre in Lagos on September 27, 2024.
